This Pope and Young buck was taken on a food plot less than 1/4 acre and the buck was the 5th buck to come out of the native grass mix and straight to the food plot. This is also my favorite picture it's not my biggest buck but at that time my 3 year old daughter wanting to help take pictures and be in her daddy's picture made me very proud. Christmas Eve morning it was very foggy that day and I shot this nice buck late morning just in time to get back home with him before the family dinner. Unfortunately my camera had picked up to much moisture from the damp / foggy day and it did not record much of the hunt when I hit the record button. This nice Pope & Young buck was taken on Dec. 17 after 6 inches of snow the week before. He was taken in a food plot that had oats on one side and clover on the other. After I filmed shooting this buck I show the recovery of the arrow in the food plot and just how Green the clover still is. This Big old 11 point buck was just about to whip up on another buck on Thanksgiving night when I made a snort-wheeze with my mouth and he came right in for a 25 yard shot. Spring Tom turkey weighed in at 23 # with a 10 1/2 inch beard and 1inch spurs. Here is another Pope & Young buck shot on an evening hunt after work at the corner of a wood lot with lots of crops left for feeding on in the field near by. This 8 point buck with one brow tine that is 9 inch long was taken during late muzzleloader season after a week of bad weather and a big group of deer were found feeding in a river bottom where the corn was knocked down bad that year by the weather. Over 30 + deer were feeding in these fields ever night. The video of this hunt can been seen on Real World Whitetails volume 2 ( coming out soon )on the link tab on the home page. After being just out of range a few times during late bow season this 12 point buck with a 22 1/2 inch inside spread came walking in to with in 30 yards during the second day of muzzleloader season that year for a chip shot. He was heading to a large corn field that had plenty of corn left on the ground. Another successful spring turkey hunt. This big old gobbler weighed in at 21 # and he had a 11/ 1/4 inch beard with 3/4 inch spurs. Big 11 point Buck runs out of luck as he passed by me at 15 yards during the rut in a rain storm while some hunters were back at the truck or house staying warm and dry. This Pope & Young 8 point buck weighed in at 225 # field dress. After reading the rubs and foot prints to see that this buck was coming from across the road out of a patch of bushes no more than 1 acre I set up in the 10 acre wood lot that I had permission to hunt. On the 3rd evening hunt with the right wind and about 1 hour before dark he came through to make a few more rubs. This buck was a 11 point that field dressed 215 # field dressed and has a 22 inch spread. He was taken in a corn field while he was scent checking the does that were feeding in the field at that time. This Pope & Young buck was a 9 point and he weighed in at 250 # field dressed and he was weighed in a 3 different Big Deer contest -( By the weight ) and he won all 3 contest. He was taken on the 1st day of bow season - Oct. 1. I had been watching 5 bucks on this small fence row all summer and I was very lucky to get off of work that night on time and we had a north wind and everything fell in to place and this buck along with 3 other bucks walked by at 15 yards. One of the best days of hunting. I shot this Big 10 point after a late morning fog finally left around 10:30 that day and my younger brother and filming partner Travis shot his 10 pointer that evening around 4:30 - 6 hours after I had shot mine. This double beam 13 point buck just stayed out of range all bow season but come muzzleloader season a 75 yard shot was all that it took. This buck's jaw bone was aged at over 7 1/2 years old and he has a true 7 1/2 in. and 8 0/8 in. bases measurements on him. He may be one of the oldest buck to date that I have matched wits with and this time I won.
